I was sitting on the edge of bridge over the freeway, staring at the cars as they drive past. With a smoke hanging out of my mouth and a 700ml of strawberry milk in my left hand. What has my life come to? I took another drag from my smoke and sighed.

"Careful, you don't want to make the monster angry." I heard a female voice said.

"You saying that will make her angry." another female voice said.

I just ignored it. Monster. Yeah, I am a monster. I turned around and got down, then saw three high school students, they go to the same highs school as me too. They looked at me shock.

"What?" I asked as I dropped my smoke and put it out.

"N-nothing, sorry." one said.

They then ran off. I sighed as I started walking. I would run from me too. All because of my strength, it's not even human. Having superhuman strength sucks and a short temper sucks. No one can stand being around me. They call me monster, freak, loser, tell me to die, to leave and never come back. For that reason, I keep my distance from as many people as I can. As I made it to the main street, people avoid me and stare at me. I threw my now empty bottle of milk in the bin. I should get another one. I walked into the small store when the magazine rack caught my eye. I walked over and grabbed a magazine. On the front was a picture of my twin older siblings. My family are famous. My parents both are actors while my siblings are the same but they also doing musicals because they love singing and dancing. My sister also can play the piano and violin. I also hear my brother is learning to play guitar. They are all talented.

"Oh Athena, you're back." I heard a voice said.

I looked up to the elderly man behind the counter, he is one of the few people that aren't scared of me. I don't understand why but it started when I stopped a robbery. He was grateful since he is also the owner of this store.

"Mr West, it's good to see you again." I said.

I sat the magazine down and walked to the fridge by the counter. He keeps a range of milks store here. One shelf full of the strawberry milk bottles I buy. I swear he does this because it's one of the main thing I buy from here.

"Come on Athena, you can call my by my first name." Mr West told me.

"That's rude, you are the adult. I need to be respectful." I told him.

I payed for the milk and Mr West sighed. He was one of the few people that cared about me.

"Thanks again." I said walking out.

"Take care." Mr West said.

I looked at the sky, it was getting late. I should head home before dark. I sighed as I started heading home. I live in a small one bedroom apartment my family brought me. They are afraid of me too. They told me if I keep my head down and made sure no one found out we were related they will send me money. I have done well so far. My family changed my last name so I could go through school and when I moved, they help me get a range of fake ids and birth certificate. It's better if we had different last names anyway. I made it to the lights, waiting to cross. Across the road I saw a family. The mother, father, a teenager and a younger child on a bike. I know the teenager, her name was Megan. I know her father as well. The lights went green for us to cross and I looked to my left to see a truck speeding. It wasn't going to stop and heading this way. What the hell?

"Jenson!" I heard Megan cry.

I looked forward, the boy. He was on this side of the road and stopped. He was in the truck's path. I quickly dropped my milk and bag, running over and quickly stand so my back was to the truck which slammed into my back. I pushed back into it, the boy, Jenson, was right in front of me. He was staring at me with both shock and amazement. He was okay. I made it just in time.

"Jenson!" Megan cried as she ran over with her parents.

I moaned in pain as I looked back. The truck driver got out and ran over with pure fear in his eyes. I just felt so much anger. He could have killed the child.

"What the fuck were you doing?!" I asked.

He ran off and I sighed, he knew who I was. I moaned in pain as I walked to my milk and bag. Lucky I didn't open it like I was going to. I picked them up and went to cross the road till I was grabbed. I stopped and looked back to see it was Megan.

"Why?" Megan asked softly.

"Because I can." I replied.

Megan let me go and then gasped in horror.

"What?" I asked.

"You're back, its bleeding. You were cut from the sharp metal from the truck." Megan explained.

"Huh?" I whispered.

I looked back and sighed, of course I couldn't see it. I sighed, looks like I have to make a detour.

"Right, thanks." I said.

With that I walked off. No need to stay around. I know a doctor he deals with criminals and the black market. He is also the doctor that is paying me so he can run some strange experiments on me. I really didn't want to see him today but looks like I don't get a choice. He better not be weird again. It didn't take long for me to make it to his apartment building. I head up to his room, he better be home. I made it to his floor and head to his door. With a sigh, I knocked on it. It the swings open and I saw him, he was smiling. He has messy brown hair, brown eyes hiding behind black glasses and is wearing a pale blue dress shirt, a black tie and grey pants.

"Sup doc." I greeted.

His name is Oslac, a strange name but it's growing on me.

"Oh, Athena! It's so good to see you. It's been so long, a month." Oslac greeted as a woman walked over.

I looked at her and smiled, Celty. She has long black hair, the blackest I have ever seen, and bright blue eyes.

"Hey Athena, it's been a while." Celty greeted.

"Well, sadly this isn't a social call." I told them.

"What is it?" Oslac asked.

I turned around and I heard the pair gasp. I looked back as Oslac walked closer and touched my back.

"How bad is it?" I asked.

"Your white shirt is mostly red." Oslac replied.

Well shit, that's bad and I have two layers on. I'm also running out of shirts. I was then grabbed and dragged in. I looked back as we walked down the hallway and to the lounge room.

"Lay down and take your shirt off. Celty, help her. I'll get my gear." Oslac explained, then ran off.

I took my bag, sitting it by the coffee table. No way I was lying on the couch, I'll get my blood on it. I then started taking my shirt off as I sat down on the coffee able. I was facing the glass sliding door which lead out to a balcony. I still had to somehow take my singlet off. I looked next to me to see Celty.

"What the hell did you do?" Celty asked.

"Something crazy." I replied.

I took my shirt off, then carefully took my singlet off. This sucks and it's starting to hurt. I sighed as I laid down on my side.

"Oh God, is that a piece of metal sticking out?" I heard Oslac asked.

"Maybe." I replied.

"You need to lay more on your stomach." Oslac told.

"Got it." I said, rolling over.

I then felt a sharp pain and gasped. I looked back and Oslac sighed.

"This is going to hurt a lot, this looks deep." I heard Oslac warned me.

I looked away.

"Just get it out." I told him with pain in my voice.

"Okay." I heard Oslac said.

I then felt a sharp pain and cried out in pain, trying not to move. God! This sucks! I let out a scream when and I felt two hands on my shoulders.

"Almost there!" I heard Oslac shouted. "Okay, it's out." I heard Oslac said.

I let out a yelp. I did my best to not move while Oslac did whatever he had to. It hurt, a lot but I guess it didn't help I didn't have anything for the pain. I was panting.

"So what happened?" I heard Celty asked.

"At the lights, a truck went through a red light, speeding so I stopped it so it didn't run a boy over." I replied.

"Athena." I heard Celty whispered.

"Yeah, I know. Stupid, huh." I said.

"Not what I was thinking." Celty said, walking into my view.

"Also Athena, I want you to stay the night. You have lost a lot of blood and I need to keep a close eye on you." I heard Oslac told me.

"Fine, whatever." I whispered.

"Celty, could you help her sit up." I heard Oslac said.

I sighed as I slowly started to sit up with Celty helping me. I quickly placed my hand on my forehead, feeling a little dizzy.

"Are you okay?" Celty asked.

"Just a little dizzy." I replied softly.

"No use on getting these wrapped up since you need a shower." I heard Oslac said.

"I'll get you some clothes and you can go for a shower." Celty said walking off.

"So, what did you pull out doc?" I asked, looking over.

"This." Oslac said.

He holds out a cloth with a piece of metal, it was bigger than I thought.

"You are lucky it didn't hit any organs." Oslac told me.

"Yeah, I guess I am." I whispered.

"Well get comfortable." Oslac told me.

"Got it doc." I whispered.

Celty walked back then walked back with a towel and clothes. I sighed.

"Can someone put this in my fridge?" I asked, holding my milk up.

"Of course." Oslac said.

He took my milk and walked off. I sighed as I stand up but lost my balance and quickly sat back down. Celty ran to my side with a worried expression.

"Sorry, my fault." I assured her.

"Slowly." Celty told me.

I nod, then stand up again, this time with Celty's help. We head to the bathroom and I sighed. I went for a hot shower, to make sure I didn't fall, Celty stayed. Not the first time I showered and Celty had to keep an eye on me, sadly. With her help, I put some lose black pants on. I walked out with my towel covering me up. Oslac was waiting with everything set up to bandage me up. I walked over and sits down with my back to him. Not wasting him, he quickly started dressing wounds. I sat there and waited. Celty was standing right in front of me with a black shirt in her hands. Once Oslac was done. Celty helped me put the shirt on.

"As I said, you will be staying here." Oslac said.

I looked at him, then at Celty and sighed. I got up and nod, then walked to the fridge.

"I wonder if we see you on the news?" Oslac asked.

"Turn it on and find out." I said.

"Oh, good idea." Oslac said.

I grabbed my milk and walked over as Oslac turned the TV on. First thing we saw was the accident and I sighed.

"As you can see behind me, this truck was seen speeding through a red light when it hit a woman, the woman's name is Athena Stone. She is a 15-year-old high school student that is well known in this area." the female report said.

Then a video played.

"As you can see, she ran onto the road and stopped the truck that was going to hit a ten year old boy." she then said.

"Look at that! You took that truck on and came out with a few scratches." Oslac said.

The video stoped and switched back to the reporter.

"It is said that Miss Stone is hurt but left the scene." the reporter said.

Celty turned the TV off and I sighed. Where the hell did that video come from?

"Hey Celty, it was getting to the best part." Oslac whined.

I shook my head as I walked out onto the balcony and sat down, shaking my milk. It's not the first time I have been on the news, though first time this year. I tried to be careful but now, people know and remember that I am a monster.

"Athena." I heard Celty said.

"It's just been a long and shit day." I told her.

Celty walked in front of me. I opened my milk and sighed. Celty pulled out a smoke and holds it out. I took it, placing it in my mouth and Celty lights it, then sits down next to me as she pulled a smoke out for herself, placing it in her mouth and lights it. I am in so much trouble. How am I going to show my face around town now?
~Chapter 1~
The name I am always called. Monster. Freak. Loser. People always tell me off. Die. Don't come back. Leave us alone.  All because I am different. It's not my fault I was born with superhuman strength. It's not my fault I have a short temper and lose control. It's not my fault, right? Right?
