Starlight Detective - Chapter 12

Caley gasped as she woke up and looked around scared. Caley then smiled, seeing Melody fast asleep next to her. Caley sighed, looking out the window. She can't get up since she's on the window side. She also doesn't want to wake up Melody. Caley took a deep breath.

'Why? Why did this happened? I really fucked up. I let my guard down.' Caley thought.

She sat up and sighed. Her head hurts. She looked out the window and smiled as she laid down on her side, looking out the window. It look like it was going to be a beautiful day. She then heard Melody moaned so she looked over to see Melody opening her eyes. Melody looked over and smiled.

"Caley." Melody whispered.

Caley sighed as she sat up.

"Are you okay?" Melody asked.

"No." Caley replied as she got up.

She walked into the kitchen and started making something to eat. Melody sighed as she got up and walked over.

"Caley." Melody whispered.

"I messed up." Caley whispered.

Melody looked at her worried and Caley sighed. Melody wrapped her arms around Caley and Caley smiled.

"I'll be fine, I guess I'm mad at myself for letting my guard down so easily. I should have known better." Caley whispered.

"It's not your fault." Melody told her.

"I let my guard down and I dragged Maddison into this." Caley whispered.

"Tristan and Nathan got him so don't worry. He can't hurt you or anyone ever again." Melody told her.

Caley nod.

"I know, I know." Caley whispered.

"I'll cook breakfast." Melody said.

She let Caley go and took over. Caley walked back and sat down. After breakfast, they got dress though she doesn't plan on leaving. Caley sat down on the bed and moaned. Melody walked over and sat next to her.

"So what are you going to do today?" Melody asked.

Caley sighed.

"I don't know, maybe clean up my room. I don't plan on leaving. I just want to take it easy to day." Caley replied.

"That's a good idea." Melody whispered.

They heard the lift ding and looked over as Tristan walked out. He walked over and stood in front of the pair.

"How are you feeling?" Tristan asked.

"I'm fine, a little sore but I'll be okay." Caley whispered.

"Stay home today." Tristan told her.

Caley nod.

"Yeah, that's the plan anyway." Caley whispered.

Tristan sighed, placing his hand on top of Caley's head. Caley looked up and Tristan smiled.

"I have some work to do so I won't be home for a while." Tristan told her.

Caley nod. Tristan walked to the lift and hit the button.

"Melody, a moment." Tristan said.

Melody nod as she got up and walked over as the lift open. They got in and Caley sighed as she laid down. It was early so she didn't want to call Maddison and she wasn't isn't in the mood to start cleaning. Caley closed her eyes. She'll rest a little longer, she has all day to do it.

Tristan and Melody made it to the top floor to see Sebastian, Sully, Lelouch, Ryder and Anthony.

"So what now?" Sully asked.

Tristan walked to his desk and Melody sat down.

"Caley is staying home today, Samuel has pleaded guilty to all chargers and will be facing court next month. He can't get out so Caley is safe." Tristan explained. "Lelouch, can you still help Ceri catch the Black Swan?" Tristan asked.

"Yeah, I have a few things going." Lelouch replied.

"Everyone can take it easy. Tomorrow is Monday." Tristan said, standing up. "I have work to day so I'll be out." Tristan said.

"I better get back to my room." Lelouch said standing up.

Melody sighed as Lelouch walked to the lift.

"Give Caley space, she will need time." Tristan told Melody.

Melody nod as Tristan walked to the lift. Lelouch hit the button and the lift opened. The pair walked in and the door closed. Melody leaned back.

"She'll be fine, we just have to remind her we are here." Sully told Melody.

"I know but I'm worried." Melody whispered.

"We all are." Anthony said.

Melody nodded.

"Yeah, I know." Melody whispered. "But you weren't there when Tristan pulled her up. Limp, like a rag doll. It was so scary." Melody explained.

"The real question here is, are you okay Melody?" Sebastian asked.

Melody shook her head. Sully sighed as he got up and walked up to Melody, dropping down to one knee and place his hand on top of Melody's head. Melody looked up, then wrapped her arms around Sully's neck.

"We will have to take it easy for a while, we don't have jobs at the moment." Sebastian told them.

Everyone nodded.

"I'm glade we can all agree." Sully said.

Sully looked at Melody and smiled.

Caley was reading a book when her phone started ringing. She grabbed it to see it was Maddison. Caley smiled and quickly answered it.

"Hey Maddison." Caley greeted.

"How are you Caley?" Maddison asked worried.

"I'm... I'm fine. A little sore." Caley replied. "And you?" Caley asked.

"I'm fine, a little shock on what happened." Maddison replied.

"I'm sorry." Caley whispered.

"It's not your fault." Maddison told her.

"It is, I followed that man and I let my guard down. I'm a detective yet I let my guard down so easily." Caley explained as she got up.

She walked to a window and stared at the busy city.

"And your got dragged into my mess." Caley added.

"Caley." Maddison whispered. "Melody told me about Snow White." Maddison whispered.

Caley sighed.

"I see." Caley whispered.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Maddison asked.

"I will be." Caley whispered. "Listen, I'll be at school tomorrow. I promise. I'm just going to rest and clean up my room." Caley explained.

"Good idea, I'll bring my USB with those flyers. I am happy with what we have done. I'll just bring them in." Maddison explained.

Caley smiled.

"That sounds like a plan." Caley said. "Alright, I'll get there early." Caley told her.

"Alright, take care." Maddison told her.

"I will, you too." Caley said.

Maddison then hanged up and Caley put her phone away. Caley sighed as she place her hand on the window. Caley then looked back and sighed.

'I really should clean this room.' Caley thought as she walked foreword.

Caley smiled as she started working. It wasn't going to clean itself. Caley found a black box and sighed as she opened it. In it was a necklace, a oval locket. It has a deep red behind the intricate silver rose filigree. Caley ran her finger over the rose. In it is a tracking chip. She was going to give this to Snow but... Caley sighed.

'What do I do with this now?' Caley asked herself.

Caley then smiled, closing the box and walked to the lift. She hit the button and waited.

'I got Maddison dragged into this world, I have to give it to her but I need Lelouch to edit a few things first.' Caley thought.

When the lift open, it was empty and Caley walked in and head to Lelouch's room. Once there, she walked out and over to him. Lelouch looked at her.

"Oh Caley, are you okay?" Lelouch asked.

Caley nod.

"I need you to edit the chip in the necklace, I want to give it to Maddison." Caley told him.

"Of course, that won't take long." Lelouch said.

Caley held it out and Lelouch took it. He started working and Caley smiled.

"I'm glade you are going to use it." Lelouch said.

Caley nod.

"Yeah, I dragged her into this world." Caley said.

Lelouch chuckled.

"Well she seems like a nice girl. I am sure she will be fine. I mean, she has powerful parents." Lelouch explained.

Caley nod.

"Yeah." Caley whispered.

"And done." Lelouch said.

Caley grabbed it and smiled. They heard a ding so Caley looked over to see Melody and Sully. The pair walked over.

"Why are you here Caley?" Sully asked.

"Getting something done. I'll be in my room if you need me." Caley said, walking to the lift.

Melody watched, Caley hit the button and the door opened. Caley walked in and the door closed. Melody sighed.

"Remember the necklace Caley brought for Snow." Lelouch said.

"Yeah." Sully said.

"She wanted me to edit the detail so she can give it to Maddison." Lelouch told them.

Melody smiled.

"I see." Melody whispered. "Maddison cares about Caley, wanting to get to know her for years." Melody told them.

"Really?" Sully asked.

Melody nod.

"Yeah, I'm going to help her." Melody said, walking to the lift.

Melody hit the button and yawned.

"Go easy on her." Lelouch told her.

Melody nod. The lift open and Melody got in, heading to Caley's room. Caley was staring at her and Melody smiled.

"Want help?" Melody asked, walking over.

"If you want to." Caley said.

Melody nod.

"Then I can make lunch." Melody added.

Caley chuckled and nod.

"Sounds great." Caley said.

Melody smiled.

"Let's to work then." Melody said.
